Having good character is important. We learned what it is and some of the positive traits to have as we read stories and biographies to illustrate. We also connected it to our own experiences. Mrs. Beacham was our awesome sub today while I was able to go to a training.
We had an activity and discussed some of the changes to be expected during adolescence.
We finished up our Living Above the Line magic foldables and divvied out some classroom jobs.
We played Simon Says to learn about the importance of Living Above the Line in our choices. Students are creating a foldable to culminate the activity and will share it with their family. It will go home tomorrow Tuesday, August 29. Please have your student teach you what they learned, then sign the back of it, and have them return it for full points.
We had a fun class discussion about having our own Home Court Advantage and how to help each other succeed. We also learned our first definition.
Health is the combination of physical, mental/emotional, and social well-being. We explored our class website as well as What Is...CANVAS on the top right. Please look through that and create a sign in for yourself and have your parent do the same. :)
It is important that we know each other and especially that Mrs. Brown knows you. We played a name game today.
It is important to be positive about ourselves. We listed at least 10 positive traits, characteristics, things we liked, hobbies, etc. and are decorating Positive YOU bodies to border our classroom.
We played a getting to know you game which also taught us about cooperation, persistence, growth mindset, concentration, and team-building. We ended the day discussing how valuable each one of us is. Enjoy your first weekend of the semester! Be safe if you are driving up to watch the eclipse. That would be so awesome to watch!
